Ich hatte den Wunsch nach Installationen,
die einen gesellschaftlichen Bezug haben,
eine soziale Verantwortung. Hierbei hat
mich die Arbeit »public light - private light«
von Mischa Kuball inspiriert.
Die Frage: »Wie löst sich diese soziale
Verantwortung (als Mensch, als Künstler)
in der Kunst, in meiner Kunst ein?«
The question of social responsibility of artistic
work became an important part in the thinking
about art and the place of art in the society.
I was influenced by the work of other artist,
for instance by the work of Mischa Kuball,
showing here his work »public light -
private light«. He borrowed lamps,
coming from the personal rooms of
São Paulo inhabitants for his
installation and replaced the
lamps in the people*s home
by a simple mass-produced
version.
