Die Welle im physikalischen Sinne ist
eine Energieausbreitung. Eine Welle bedeutet
zeitlich und örtlich periodische Veränderungen
einer physikalischen Größe g(t,x).
In der Transformation der Energie liegt
das Potential für meine Arbeit. Z.B. die Arbeit
»Delft hydraulics« von Tacita Dean inspirierte
mich in dieser Weise. Die Arbeit dokumentiert
die Funktion einer analogen Maschine zur
Simulation von Wellen- und Teilchen-
bewegungen im Wasser.
A wave is a disturbance that propagates.
Apart from electromagnetic radiation, and
probablygravitational radiation, which
can travel through vacuum, wave exist
in a medium (which on deformation
is capable of producing elastic
restoring forces) through which
they travel and can transfer energy
from one place to another without
any of the particles of the medium
being displaced permanently; i.e.
there is no associated mass
transport. Instead, any
particular point oscillates
around a fixed position.
