Membran °

Eine Membran (v. mittelhochdeutsch: membrane
Pergament, von lat. membrana Häutchen,
v.membrum Körperglied) ist eine Trennschicht,
eine dünne Haut. Man unterscheidet zwischen
Membranen, die zur Trennung von
Stoffgemischen verwendet werden und
Membranen, die Schwingungen
erzeugen oder modifizieren sollen;
aber auch Membranen als
Urelemente (Elementarteilchen) des
Universums.
° membrane

A membrane is a thin, typically planar structure or
material that separates two environments.
Because it sits between environments or phases
and has a finite volume, it can be referred
to as an interphase rather than an interface.
Membranes selectively control mass transport
between the phases or environments.
»Kepler's drawing is a pure geometrical fancy,
but it is meant to correspond to the actual
relation between the radii of the planetary
orbits. Most important her is the cube,
fitted into the outermost sphere of
Saturn.«
